Before the beads: the shopping math

Ask a beader about their most annoying purchase and you will hear about the tube that ran out mid-border — and the second tube of the wrong size that followed it. The shopping-list builder exists to make that story rare: it turns a chart's bead counts into a list you can actually buy from.

What it does with one line

A line is a chart color plus its bead count. The builder then does the boring part, in order: the 10% spare — the spare the app adds to every chart — then grams by bead type, then tube counts in the shop's real sizes, and a thread or cord estimate for the craft. Nothing about it is clever; that is the point. Charts count beads, and beads are sold by the tube.

The app's version is the same math

The app's Shopping tab runs the same rules straight from your charts — live, with shop codes, totalling every project into one list (that landed in Bead Bench 1.0.9). The browser builder is the free, no-login version of the same arithmetic: type the counts you already have from a printed chart and print the list.
